Carmen
Lara Michole Tillotson used her lustrous mezzo soprano in the “Seguidilla.” The lyrics explain Carmen’s free spirit, while the toe tapping rhythms entice even the tightest white-collared cleric to thoughts of lustful mayhem. Ms.Tillotson caught one’s attention in a pleasing plangent persistent outburst. Her “Seguidilla” was enticing and the castanets were well negotiated.

Il Trovatore
As his "mother" Azucena, Lara Michole Tillotson brought a powerful upper range and a deep, thrilling chest voice to this mezzo role, a half-mad figure whose thirst for bloody vengeance drives the action forward. Her "Stride la vampa" was chilling, especially when she dived down into that lower register where many mezzos fear to stretch their range.

-SCHMOPERA
Ms. Tillotson is a tremendous actress with a soulful voice. Agony, fear, regret – it all comes bubbling up as she sings the uber-famous “Stride la vampa.”
Azucena, a gypsy was sung by Lara Michole Tillotson. Her mezzo-soprano had tremendous beauty and some stunning upper register notes that made us all heaven bound with burnished lows that made us see the dark past she endured. “Stride la vampa!” was magnificently sung, and her cries of “Figlio Mio” were emotionally shattering. Her final duet with Manrico, “Ai nostri monti” was pure and full of longing. Her laughter after singing that her Mother is now avenged was like a female Mephisto.

Aida
Regina Opera Company / 2018
Finishing the love triangle was Lara Tillotson as Princess Amneris, who proved herself as being no less enchanting than her romantic rival Aida....Tillotson’s portrayal was not that of a spoiled and possessive princess, shallow and loathsome, but of an Amneris who was very much in love with Radames as well. Her vocal entrances after learning of her betrothal to Radames during the Act 2 finale were, to quote the commander about the news, “an unexpected thunderbolt.”
-OPERAWIRE
Amneris was in the persona of mezzo soprano Lara Tillotson. Her first act triumphs and her fears are combined in a exciting frenzy. Amneris’ soul was revealed by her scenes with Aida, saying Radames was dead then that he was alive, to check Aida’s reactions. The emotions were enhanced by the excellent supertitles by Linda Cantoni. In the Judgment scene in Act 4, Amneris’ “A lui vivo, la tomba” was sung brilliantly and culminated with“Empia razza! Anatema su voi! La vendetta del ciel scenderà!” which was greeted by an ovation for its tremendous – beautifully sung and acted – imploding of Amneris.

Amleto
Opera Delaware / 2016
Jeffrey Miller’s chorus made excellent contributions to the musical whole, and the solo roles were strongly sung, with particularly impressive voices deployed by Lara Tillotson and Timothy Mix as Gertrude and Claudius.
- SEEN AND HEARD INTERNATIONAL
Geltrude (Gertrude) was sung just as beautifully by Lara Tillotson.
- TAMINOPHILE
Sarah Asmar (Ophelia), Lara Tillotson (Gertrude) and Timothy Mix (Claudius) are all excellent, and Ben Wager (the ghost) is particularly imposing despite being costumed to resemble Moses.
